Hello and welcome back !!
A few months have gone by since my last post. I am so sorry about that. We have been away for 6 weeks to Europe in September and October. Lots of catching up, meeting old friends and making new ones. And of course, finishing it off in Spain where my parents have retired to from the Netherlands.
When I got back home there was my work to go to again, our son had to go back to school and do some catching up with homework. My sewing load had been building up too, so no time for blogging.. sewing, working and housework it was!
Finally, I am all caught up !! I have made all my quilts, Christmas presents and beehive blocks that I needed to do this year.
2016 will be full of custom order quilts, quilts for my family and friends and I have signed up for quite a few quilty / crafty swaps on Instagram.
I will do my best to blog more often, let you all have a little look behind the scenes here. Show you what I am working on.
Feel free to contact me via firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like me to make you your heirloom quilt next year.
I have added some photos to the post so you can see what I have been up to the last few months.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope you will share these special days with your loved ones and will have lots of laughter.
Be kind to one and other,
till next time
I participated in the Aussie Christmas Swap and had to make my secret partner ( Sarah ) a gift. Sarah is a very good quilter / teacher so I was a bit under the pump to impress her! I made her a handy little bag ( sew together bag ) in her favourite fabrics ( Heather Ross) and she loves it !!! So Happy !!
These are some of the blocks I made with the Farmers Wife Quilt along, organised by GnomeAngel. I will use these blocks for my little niece her quilt… which has to be done in March for her first birthday (:
The last five Bee Hive blocks I have finished for the quilt along in 2015
.. instructions to the blocks can be found on Blossom Heart Quilts blog.
A few items I have made for Christmas or Teachers gifts…
I have been playing along with Cherie from TinkerEllen who did a “wonky star” quilt along.. Her plan was to do 9 stars for a little throw… I went overboard ( of course ) and made 20, plus added sashing / borders.. so now I have a king size quilt top ready.. This one is made for our own bed. Im pretty lucky with my husband, he does not care what he sleeps under so I could fussy cut in lots of my hoarded Heather Ross fabric.
This quilt will be quilted soon… and then bound and a new blog will be on then !
Some of the quilts I have been working on after our big holiday.. They are waiting under the Christmas tree as we speak !! And I also did some pattern testing for “For The Love of Fabric” her blush quilt.
and last but not least a silly holiday photo, our dog Sophie on my first ever made quilt ( I made it in 2010) after we returned from holiday she did not want to leave our side. — she was well looked after at Nan and Pas house at the beach, don’t worry! — and a photo of Cronulla.. were we will spend plenty of time of our school holidays at the beach
Thank you for being here!
Merry Christmas !!!
