A month has gone and some sewing has taken place here in Heathcote.
I saw a post on instagram from Nadra searching for pattern testers for her new little Nottinghill House mini. She and I ( and many many others ) both follow Little big bell and love her photos. Some of her photos are of the beautiful colourful houses in her neighbourhood. Nadra decided to make a pattern for a little mini quilt based on those cute homes in Nottinghill.
I was one of the lucky ones to be chosen to test her pattern.. I made two houses, so much fun to make and easy to follow instructions! I made two as I also joined a “Heater Ross” Dumpling swap and used HR fabric in one house so I could gift this to my secret partner in this swap (:
This is the Yellow version with a famous Heather Ross gnome in the bottom window, and gorgeous goldfish in the roof windows. And pretty mermaids are swimming around in the roof parts of the quilt.
The other one I made became my “green-house”
Art Gallery fabrics were used for this one ( with some others) and it is so floral-y that the bees are buzzing around in the top windows.
I am also currently working on two custom quilts. One King single quilt in Verna Mosquera fabric which is ready to go tomorrow to the long arm quilter.
and one of them will be a queen sized quilt but thats early beginnings
we choose the colours and some cutting has started.
And then I have received some blocks for my Queen Bee month of April from some fellow sewing ladies. I choose the Tic Tac Toe block and made quite a few myself already and today I laid some out on the floor and thought this is the way I should start of this throw… Four by four blocks large so far. Not sure if I should make it 4 x 5 or 4 x 6 .. I am expecting 2 more blocks, have 4 more spare so I can always make some more to make it larger.
The last few weeks I have also been reading way to many blogs, browsed Pinterest, was amazed by the Instagram feed and did lots of patting of fabric. I have been making little things for friends, working on some swaps I am in and the usual homework never stops either ! And the washing just builds up when you have had horrible storms for weeks on end.. glad to see the sun out again.
Until next time, feel free to leave a comment.
